My most recent project is Love Cats an exhibit which turned into a Cat Calendar. Love Cats is on exhibit at New Zone Gallery, Eugene October 2024. The 2025 Cat Calendar features a different painting for each month. The Cat Calendar is available on my shop.
Inspired by cats and songs by The Cure, these paintings derive from personal experience and photos shared by friends and art enthusiasts. It is a joy to paint and spend time with cats and show their different personalities and relationships with people. Each painting has a story and celebrates this feline furry friend!
So much of life is spent struggling against one thing or the next, whether it's society and politics, our jobs - at home, school or work, or our own self-image. This series explores that feeling of inevitability, day after day, and contrasts it with that which inspires. I found that these struggles make excellent stories.
ArtsJournal created a video of the artist's talk on this series. To view available original paintings, visit the artist's online shop.
The entirety of this book is an artist’s perspective: it is a collage of words and 45+ paintings, created to question how we define ourselves within society. The portraits capture the essence of individuals from Cottage Grove, Oregon, letting you see the world they spent a lifetime learning. They are juxtaposed with demographic data and personal interviews placed anonymously. Through this layering, you build a picture of society as you relate to the stories, constructing a tapestry through your own filter.
Snippets from the 152-page hardcover art book can be found on the exhibit page. The hardcover is now available through Amazon.
